Hermes Agent setup checklist.
Install only after you know which machine, model provider, gateway, tools, and migration scope you want.
- Read the official README and install docs.
- Pick the runtime location: laptop, VPS, or cloud environment.
- Choose the model provider and keep API keys scoped.
- Run setup without granting broad authority first.
- If migrating from OpenClaw, run a dry run before overwrite.
- Test one low-risk workflow twice and compare memory behavior.
Verification habit: write down the final check before the workflow starts. If you cannot verify the output, narrow the task.
